Maintenance Schedule

The factory recommended Service Schedule. This service schedule is applicable to the tractor operated under normal working conditions. If operating in a muddy place, frequent greasing is needed. If operating in a dusty place the air cleaner and fuel filter should be frequently cleaned or replaced.

At 100 Hours Perform the Daily InspectionA and B services

At 200 Hours Perform the Daily InspectionA, B and C services

At 300 Hours Perform the Daily InspectionA, B, C and D services

At 600 Hours Perform the Daily InspectionA, B, C, D, and E services

<*After 600 hours of operation, service should be repeated starting over at the 100 hour service schedule.

Daily Inspection Service

  • Inspection: Check the oil, cooling water, and fuel for signs of leakage.
  • Oil: Check the engine, transmission, governor, and hydraulic oil for oil level. Refill as needed.
  • Fuel: Feed the fuel tank so that the fuel level is 1.57in (4cm) below the tank fuel inlet.
  • Air Cleaner: Check oil bath level and condition, replace oil in oil bath if needed. Check the pre-filter for dirtiness, replace if needed.
  • Greasing: The king pin and front axle center pin should be frequently greased in dusty conditions. Ensure grease nipples are clean prior to greasing.

“A” SERVICE (Generally performed every 50 hours)

  • Perform the Daily Inspection.
  • Air Cleaner: clean oil bath and refill with new oil. Check pre-cleaner for dirtiness, replace as necessary.
  • Transmission and Governor: check oil level, if low add oil up to the gauge mark. (Replacement is required every 600 hours of operation).
  • Controls: Apply new engine oil to the moving part of controls (unless operating in a dusty environment, in a dusty environment avoid oiling controls)
  • Brake: Check free-play. Adjust both right and left brakes so they operate evenly with the same amount of pedal free-play when they are linked.
  • Clutch Lever: Check for pedal free-play. If the free-play is not correct, adjust to 1.57in or 40mm.
  • Cooling Water: Check level, add water/coolant until the level becomes .98in or 25mm below the level of water inlet. (Be cautious of radiator pressure, do not check when radiator is hot).
  • Battery: Check liquid level, if low add distilled water until internal plates are submerged. Make sure battery vents are not clogged, and the battery is clean. (In dusty environments check the battery more often).
  • Tires: Check tire pressure. If low or high, set to correct tire pressure.
  • Spark Plug: Check spark plugs to see if they need to be cleaned. Check gap to make sure electrodes are  0.03in (0.8mm). If the spark plugs are warn, replace (Recommended plug: NGK B6E or equivalent). The Points Gap is 17.
  • Valve Clearance: Check and if necessary re-tighten cylinder head set bolts then adjust the valve clearance.
  • Fan and Governor Belts: Check fan belt slack is 0.8 to 0.9in (10 – 13mm) with 22lbs of pressure on belt.
  • Hydraulic Oil: Check hydraulic oil for deterioration, if degraded replace. Fill hydraulic reservoir so that the oil level will be at the center of the oil gauge (gauge plug). (it is common US is to use JD 303 Universal Tractor Fluid).
  • Bolts and Nuts: Check and all moving parts, bolts, and nuts. Re-tighten as necessary.

“B” SERVICE (Generally performed every 100 hours)

  • Perform the Daily Inspection.
  • Perform the “A” SERVICE but exclude:

    • Oil Filter Replacement
    • Hydraulic Oil Replacement – Originally Satoh recommended to replace the hydraulic fluid every 100 hours of operation, however, to save money it can be replaced when it shows signs of deterioration and wear.
    • Transmission Oil Replacement – Satoh recommends to replace the transmission oil every 600 hours of operation.
    • Valve Clearance Adjustment

“C” SERVICE (Generally performed every 200 hours)

  • Perform the Daily Inspection.
  • Perform both the “A” and “B” SERVICE but exclude:

    • Oil Filter Replacement
    • Valve Clearance Adjustments
    • Transmission Oil Replacement

“D” SERVICE (Generally performed every 300 hours)

  • Perform the Daily Inspection.
  • Perform the “A”, “B”, and “C” SERVICE but exclude:

    • Transmission Oil Replacement
  • Fuel Filter: Replace the fuel filter. Make sure to filter is replaced in correct direction for fuel flow.

“E” SERVICE

  • Perform the Daily Inspection.
  • Perform the “A”, “B”, “C”, and “D” SERVICE.
  • Front Hub: Check the front hub bearing is properly greased, also check for pre-load.
  • Steering Box: The steering box is completely sealed, however, if the clutch assembly requires replacement or the transmission is disassembled replace the steering box oil.
