Hydraulic System

Here you will find information about the S650G Bison hydraulic system including the factory breakout diagram of the components, information on the fluids, and specific gauge specifications for your tractor.

Developed by Satoh, the hydraulic system is powered by a Kayaba-Dowty, GP1 gear type pump driven directly by the engine crankshaft main pulley. When the engine runs, the hydraulic system oil is constantly delivered.

Although many Satoh tractors have a combined hydraulic/transmission system the S650G utilizes separate hydraulic and transmission systems. The hydraulic reservoir is located under the seat, you may have to flip the seat up to access the filler cap.

Follow the fluid levels in the fluids section for how much hydraulic fluid the system holds. Check fluid levels in one of two ways: older models have a sight gauge on the left side of the reservoir, newer models have a level plug on the right side of the reservoir.

The Satoh hydraulic system calls for John Deer type 303 hydraulic fluid, Universal Tractor Fluid, AW46 Tractor Hydraulic Oil, or equivalent:
